There's been no shortage of TV shows celebrating high art - from painting's great masters, to haute couture fashion, opera and classical music, grand and inspiring architecture and cutting edge design.

But how often can average Australians turn on the telly and see a show that celebrates the art they surround themselves with? The stuff that makes them comfortable. The food, fashions, buildings, objects and music that they choose to have in their daily lives. The things that can be described with one word. Nice.

With this in mind, Myf Warhurst embarks on a personal trip through the past and present of popular art and design, in a TV series that will be an honest, occasionally embarrassing, informative and entertaining celebration of the ordinary - the things that make you say. . . "Oh, that’s nice."
